Building a computer, need some advise...?

I currently have a custom built PC that I bought from someone on Craigslist (I know call me crazy but it was at a really cheap price, and I made sure everything worked before I bought it)

The specs are currently :

Windows 7 Ultimate X64
AMD phenom 9600 quad core processor 2.3 ghz (TLB bug fix turned off in bios)
8gb of ADATA 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 PC2 6400 RAM
XFX Radeon HD 4890 Graphics card
Maxtor 6Y250M0 SATA 250gb Hard Drive (Storage)
Western Digital WD2500BEVT 250gb hard drive (Primary HD)
MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard.
Rosewill RG530-2 530W PSU
iMicro CA-859BK3 X-Blade Gaming computer Case

I'm Planning to upgrade so I can play some of the new games that are gonna be coming out, I Get 15-25 FPS on the new Red Faction on max Settings at 1680 x 1050 Res. Also I do alot of Audio recording I constantly use programs like Addictive drums, onqles X30 amp sim, various cab sims, bass amp sims plus all of the normal plugins that are used in recording all at one time, and sometimes my computer just can't handle it all. The parts that I have picked out for this so far are as follows:

Evga GeForce GTX 590
Intel Core i7-2600K
ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME (REV 3.0)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-850M 850W
Sentey - GS-6500B Burton Full Tower Case - Red

My plan is to buy all of this in 2 halves (due to the lack of funds to buy it all at once) But I want to be able to use which ever half I purchase so I was thinking the the 2 halves would be the PSU the Case and the Video card ( I put those with the video card because my current case I dont think will fit it and my PSU was far too weak for it so I will have to get both of those to be able to use the card) and the second half would be the RAM the processor and the MOBO. My original plan was to but the video card,PSU, case. and use that with my current system untill I have the money to buy the rest, but I have also been told that even though my current CPU is a quad core that its still kinda weak that I would be better off getting the new processor first, and plus I would have a greater benefit from the faster processor when I am doing my recording but I would have to get the PSU with it as well and it would be at the cost of having to wait longer before I can (Smoothly) play the new games which was kinda the whole reason I started thinking about all of this, but I guess it would be best to wait for the GTX 590 to get a little cheaper and possibly just get 2 and run them in SLI :D
So my question is this, What should I do, go ahead and go with plan 1 and get the video card first, OR go with plan 2 and get everything else ?

Also please let me know if anything if not compatible with something else, I have pretty much made sure that everything is compatible but its always good to double check, But I do know this, The MOBO is compatible with the new Sandy bridge CPU and the RAM was specifically designed for it so I think im in the green as far as compatibility goes but just in case let me know.

P.S. this is my first time buying my own parts and building my own PC so please cut me some slack here lol !!!

P.P.S and please no fanboy stuff I don't want to hear It, I clearly don't care about that kinda stuff, I mean come on I currently own amd CPU and ATI GPU and now Im looking at Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU, I dont care about brand name I care about PERFORMANCE !!! Thank you for your patience and for any help you can give.

(1):first of all your computer that you just bought isn't really good for gaming

(2): if you want to upgrade you CPU from AMD to intel i7 make sure your mobo can support that kind of CPU ( must have the same socket ) like ex:1366 socket etc....

(3): lol GTX 590 ??? you crazy lol your spending way to much money just get a GTX 560 or 570 it can run games more than 60 FPS with no sweat....plus its cheaper and no you don't have to do SLI

(4):you have have great mother board lol

5: to be honest don't buy crappy computer then upgrade it like after a week simply because your just going to waste money.....just buy good parts and start building

Well, Windows 95 is old, so the chances of you finding parts that will work with hardware that old are slim. I would just get a whole new rig. You'll save time and money.
