Here Is the deal... My computer won't boot up in normal mode, it will in safe mode. When I try to boot in normal mode, it crashes just before the welcome screen... I heard you can use something called an i386 folder to reinstall Windows. So I was wondering... if i were to download a copy of the I386 on a different computer, move it to my phone via USB (Don't have a pendrive or USB Stick) And then to my Broken one, and re-install that way... Would that work?

Plus, I do have a windows Cd, but my Cd Drive won't recognize it, and is playing up slightly. could i copy the CD onto my Phone (I Have 2GB Memory stick inside, I think that is sufficient space...?) and boot it up that way?

The tools i have to use are:
My phone as a usb (2gb storage)
A Separate Computer
Windows Install CD
A Working Cd Drive On The Working Computer
The broken computer will boot up in Safe Mode.

That's all the infomation i can really think off right now, thanks in advance guys :)

as long as you can boot in safe mode there is hope

1. just in case - next boot in safe mode to a backup of any data you have

problems like you mention often occur as a result of wrong shut down - like switching power OFF instead of correct shut down procedure or an interrupted system maintenance or interrupted online system upgrade that often works in the background and remains unseen

2. then use any of the repair function your operating system offers (you NO-where mention what win you have (XP, wini7, vista or ?)

the first would be a filesystem check/repair

search for

windows filesystem check/repair

and chose an info page matching your precise windows operating system version

that should solve all problems

else

every newer windows version usually comes with a recovery system either on a DVD or on a separate partition depending on your PC/laptop manufacturer

boot up in safe mode and open a command prompt as administrator>type:chkdsk/r this is a 5 step windows repair process the last couple steps will take some time. Then reboot in normal mode. If that fails, start in safe mode and run >msconfig. Disable all startup options and reboot in normal mode. If the system reboots, begin re-enabling the startup items one at a time and reboot between eachone until you find the item causing the problem. I hope this helps. This process will take you a while so be prepared.

Yes it is perfectly possible to install windows from a USB drive as long as you have an official install disk
