My computer is a HP Pavilion Slimline s3700y Desktop PC

I have a little red x over my speaker on my computer and it says my audio service is not running, i read some stuff online and I checked the plug n play, multimedia class scheduler and they are started and automatic but when i start my windows audio endpoint builder I get an error that says:

Windows could not start the windows audio endpoint builder on local computer.
Error 0x80070003. The system cannot find the path specified.

Also when I start the windows audio I get an error that says:

Windows could not start the windows audio service on local computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

It has never done this before. And the only thing I did different that may have caused it was I made recovery discs but I dont think thats the problem. Could anyone help me.

I have tryed reinstalling the drive and downloading the driver from HP's website and nothing has worked :(..

Open Device manager locate the sound card. Uninstall it. Restart the computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver, but you may be required to provide the driver if windows is unsuccessful.

Google HP Support to obtain the audio driver for your model computer and OS.

Run the Memory Diagnostics as shown below. Also, resolve the problems that found in your system registry using Reginout System Utilities.

1. Click Start.

2. Type Windows Memory Diagnostic in the Search Box.

3. Press ENTER.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Try Microsoft fixit site to scan computer -- if system has a legal MS operating system.
