Your best bet is to find some bargain RAM and up that spec. Motherboards cannot be "upgraded" since you'd also have to upgrade the RAM and CPU to match and that's really.......another computer.

So upgrade the RAM, and if possible, reload the OS. That's about as fast as the thing will go. Best of luck!

Aside from replacing the computer, about all you can do in the way of upgrades is add more RAM. So if you're not ready to buy a new computer just now, visit www.crucial.com and check into what options you have for upgrading your RAM. Use Crucial's online system scanner. It will tell you:

- How much RAM you currenty have

- The maximum your computer can use

- Which RAM slots are filled and which ones are vacant

The scanner will also give you a list of RAM sticks which Crucial has for sale **and** which are compatible with your computer. Because you have an older machine, they may be a little on the spendy side. But if you think you can get a better deal from someone else, go ahead and use the info from the Crucial scan results to go RAM shopping. Crucial's system scanner is totally free, so there's no problem about using it to find out what you need and buying elsewhere if you prefer. Good luck!

Upgrade the RAM and switch the operating system to Linux. You're just using it for Internet browsing and writing papers right? Linux will use that older hardware a lot better than Windows ever could and it will seem faster too.

I'd recommend Ubuntu, it's a Linux based operating system that has automatic updates and comes with Open Office which is an office suite that's comparable to Microsoft Office and is compatible with it.

Microsoft Will save issuing protection replace till 2014, it could nonetheless do digital mail and different straightforward issues. you may upload some reminiscence and an even bigger stressful rigidity, perhaps improve the Video card, positioned it somewhat is a sprint like protecting an old motor vehicle Alive. So that's greater of a private determination, it is not like the youngsters in China prefer it for something

It is really slow and outdated. It is just worth something for someone who is just starting to learn how to use a PC. It's RAM capacity is restricting its performance. I have a Plll-500Mhz w/ 3x128Mb SDRAM but its maximum capacity is 3x256Mb SDRAM. Its performance for internet, light office apps, MP3 and DVD viewing is quite decent w/ Win XP.

Your computer seems to be really old. Pentium 3 processor is very outdated and 128mb ram is to low. Better sell it when its working as after few months it may stop working or lose it value.

not much you can do for this system, it's not worth any upgrades at this point. you wouldn't see any major improvements.
