That processor is in my HTPC on my TV. I have other PC's that I use for more mundane tasks such
as Excel for entering grades, Word, Email watching You Tube and TV, and of course, logging in
to Yahoo! Answers, usually to answer people's math questions. I don't play any games . However
I use dual monitors on the desktop PC's to watch a TV show {such as 60 minutes or CBS News on
the net} while editing a spreadsheet, answering Yahoo! answers questions, or constructing a PowerPoint, or burning a music CD, or researching something on Wikipedia . I think that is
just basic desktop tasks with the possible exception of the TV or video watching.
I found that AMD5450 cards which are quiet and draw only 19 watts perform better than on board graphics AM760 or HD3000 chips on Asus and Arock motherboards. However, since I'm not a gamer and I currently use 450 watt and 500 watt power supplies in my case boxes. I understand that HD7750's are much higher performers and they still draw only 55 watts, unlike HD?8--- and HD-9--- series and even HDx7-- series with x≤6 .
Would I notice improvements and smoothness in activities such as scrolling web pages, switching
windows or any important video activities, or computer speed (I hear some software uses the GPU
to supplement the CPU) if I put a hundred twenty dollar HD7750 in place of the HD5450 or 6450
that are currently in my computers.
One of the computers is running Win7 professional at 64 bits with 8 MB, that is the HTPC and the other is running
WinXP SP3 32 bit with 4 MB {3.25 visible to the OS} , that is a desktop PC
that I built in an old 1998 Pentium MMX 200 case that now has an AMD 1045T sixcore 2700mhz.
and currently an HD6450. I wonder if a 7750 will even be noticeably and perceptibly better. I know the statistics are
MUCH MUCH better, but I don't know if gamers are the only ones who really see and feel the difference. If any of you have tried this card, or even a slightly slower one such as a 6750, let me
know your experiences. Thank You.
