My PC is almost 4 years old already with no upgrade of any hardware parts except for ram, which was upgraded ones. It's kind of dying now and all I could think of was upgrade necessary parts of the hardware. The problem is that, I have no idea what to upgrade and what to leave. I don't want to waste money on some parts that don't need upgrade. I'll probably upgrade it this late may or june maybe, depends on my dad. My estimated budget is I think $450/PHP20,000 . I'm not dreaming of assembling a complete gaming pc, just something faster for games like Fifa and for After Effects also cuz I've always wanted to try that thing but my pc couldn't handle it.

Here are my current specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Starter 32-bit

processor: AMD Athlon II X2 250

motherboard: Emx-mcp61m-icafe

Graphics Card: gt220 1gb 128bit

HDD: SATA 3 500GB

RAM: 4GB(but only 2GB readable, dunno why) DDR3 PC3-12800

PSU: P4-500W

Any PC over 3 years old "in general" should just be replaced, IMHO. Otherwise, if you're intent on keeping your current one: 1) Figure out why your other 2GB of RAM isn't working; it is likely a speed the mother board doesn't recognize. ALSO - you should have at least 6GB of RAM, with WIN 7 or 8. 2) How full is your HD? HDs are cheap; upgrade to a 1TB. 3) I think your graphics card is old. See how good of a newer one your motherboard will support.

Your board supports DDR2 800/667/522 not DDR3. I recommend correct memory configuration and give it a good cleaning. keeping things cool will greatly improve performance. Perhaps aftermarket cooling for graphics card. This motherboard is not a high performer so don't spend too much money on it.

Doing this will hold you over so you can save up for a fast computer. Good luck.
