Ehh..could be better, certainly for $1000. The 220 GT is a budget video card and not so good for modern games, and for $1000, I'd expect a better processor

Look on Newegg, they probably have better deals, or better yet, build one yourself. You could build a much better computer for $1000, probably with a Core i5 750, and a 5770 Radeon

EDIT: HP desktops are actually very reliable. Her'es your best bet. Go to the actual HP store website and configure it yourself. You can do a Core i5 with a 4850 Radeon video card, 640 GB hard drive, and 6 GB of DDR3 RAM for $989

That's a fantastic Deal. Usually adding a terabyte and 8GBs of memory push a good laptop over 1000 bucks. And that's when building a Dell. HP is a higher class than Dell so it'd be more expensive. So what you've got yourself there is a spectacular deal.

I just read the games and editing video thing. If you're looking to do that, make sure the desktop has a power supply of at least 450-550 watts.

No as it is over priced and it is not very good for games.

The Nvidia 230 graphics card on the system is not designed to play games very well, at least go for Nvidia 240, but even that is considered a budget graphics card. If it is an ATI graphics card on another system the lowest you'd want to go for is a HD 4650.

The rest of the systems specifications look good.

-edit-

Lib Nemesis suggested computer looks good, I'd pick the upgraded model then on graphics card take the cheaper option and go for the ATI 4650 which is better than the Nvidia 220 for games. A quick review shows it can play recent games at max settings (not crysis, far cry 2 or GTA 4 which are PC killers) while playing at around 30-40 fps which is very good for a low cost graphics card.

Initially looking at specs and I thought it was a decent PC if you upgrade the video card for gaming... until I saw the price! For $1,000 you can get a MUCH better system.

A quick check on Dell's site... for $900 you get a nVidia 310 graphics card (Newest generation) and a i7 processor. And that was only the first one I looked at.

Something to keep in mind... HPs are J-U-N-K JUNK! Avoid them like the plague, especially their laptops.
