In addition to Windows Professional, I want to be able to put the software I have which includes, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, the usual MacIntosh I photo, and I tunes. I am hoping that the Window Professional system might also have Access on it. What kind of memory and bus speed would I need? I have only spoken to one person about this, and there was a comment the the computer would take a long time to boot up. Would I be better off to have 2 computers? A PC and a Mac? I definately want a scanner and a color printer(both probably high quality.) I did see a laptop once that did have both systems on it? I don't think a laptop is necessary, because I pretty much work from home. If you know about what this would cost that would be helpful too.

A Mac will run Windows just as well as a regular PC, but the installation will be a tiny bit different.

A PC can only run Mac OSX by using a modified install disc, and usually quite a pain to install, and it will probably never be quite right. Things like sound input and power management are often flaky on Hackintoshes.

Either one will run Linux wonderfully.

Frankly, unless you are in need of some *serious* computing or graphics power, the iMac is the best PC, hands-down, by a mile. It is smaller, quieter, better looking, with better software and better features than any computer I have ever seen. Plus my main computer is a highly overclocked quad-core, but when I use those new iMacs, even though I know it is impossible, I'd swear they were faster than mine!

I support a total of 450 PCs with one other guy, and let me tell you that the handful of Macs we deal with have fewer problems, get more work done, and make everyone else more jealous than even the nicest PCs. PCs are fine (that's what I use), but a Mac *will* make you happier (and let you do MUCH more).

I actually have a potential finished dell xps that I even have in no way had a concern with in case you get a rapid adequate domicile windows laptop it could run greater helpful then macs and you are able to accomplish that lots greater with it many of the progame's you have now like cd burning and any tax utility and any concern else you are able to desire to have paid for wont artwork to any extent further what many human beings dont comprehend is while they purchase a mac its merely a quicker then the computing device that they %. out b/c apple doesnt prefer human beings to purchase a slower crappier laptop and characteristic it seem undesirable on them so as that they sell a quicker laptop so it runs stable. in case you get a solid laptop like a superb dell with a gig of ram or greater and many area on the stressful force you are able to finally end up doing greater on a computing device then a mac i've got been given a dell xps that i've got been given approximately 4 years in the past that became a splash over 4 grand i nevertheless use it to play the best of the lines video games video and photograph edit and rec television shows and use it like a TiVo for loose as quickly as I have been given a television card for it for like 70 dollars and merely plugged it in you will get the comparable set up like I even have from dell now for roughly 2 grand and characteristic an somewhat nice laptop which will final an prolonged time in case you go with a working laptop or laptop you are able to improve and shop for an prolonged time and do what ever you are able to desire to get a computing device and seem at vista merely suitable

(1) you won't get xp professional, it's Vista or nothing

(2) you won't get MS office for free, There is an alternative

You can run Windoz, OS/x and Linux on the same system setting it up as a virtual machine. you need to do some research into how this is done on a normal PC .. a normal pc will do more then a mac will ever be able to do..

a newer imac or macbook with an intel processor can dual boot windows and mac os, or run windows in a virtual machine with parralells. A pc will not run Mac OS.
