With the mouse/keyboard wake from sleep mode:

Go into your BIOS and change the settings for wake from sleep mode. I wouldn't recommend making it wake from sleep with mouse movement, as sometimes something as simple as thunder can move your mouse enough to wake it up. However, you can change the settings for whether or not keyboard input will wake it up. Just make sure not to screw with any other settings in your BIOS.

As far as the "zoom" thing goes, I have no idea. It almost sounds like your resolution is resettings itself, which doesn't make any sense.

Well, obviously, you can return from sleep by moving the mouse or press a key (that only if it is on screensaver); you have to press the power button.

My computer was having the same problem.

Here is what i did.

I Backed it up to a past date just for the heck of it and put it to sleep.

but this time the sleep function worked.

I moved it back to earlier that day,

Try that and see if it works for you too.
