Is it worth it? is there anything cheaper/better out there to improve my computer performance?
Internet explorer is particularly slow and I have DSL.
I do have Norton and PC Doctor already.
thanks!

Finallyfast.com is a scam site. So no, it's not good.

Your best bet is to get some free programs that will actually help speed up your computer.

I'll provide links to two programs that'll really come in handy for speeding up your computer. (Called CCleaner and Spybot Search & Destroy)

Just run these two programs every week or so and your computer should be running really good.

Try freeing up some RAM. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and open the task manager and close some of the processes you dont need. But IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS, DO NOT CLOSE IT BECAUSE IT MAY DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER!

DONT Download that finallyfast crap. SPYBOT is good but youll need some antivirus too. NORTON is good but it makes the computer sooooo sllloooowwww. Close your messenger windows and all that. Change your performance settings. Adjust your screen resolution to a lower value if necessary. (By right clicking desktop and selecting 'personalize' (vista) or 'properties' for xp and earlier. IF running Vista close DWM.exe in task manager (above). you may have to close it more than once. All DWM does is make your window borders translucent (see-through) and give you the little previews on the taskbar/startbar when u hover over a window button. Defrag your Hard Disk Drive. Install Mozilla Firefox instead of IE and update it often. Free up Hard drive space by deleting old stuff or saving it to disks as the drive will make your computer MUCH slower if near full.

I have never heard of Finallyfast!!!

Please remove Norton and try some other Antivirus. Norton really sucks all memory and that's why your computer is so slow.

If you really want to continue with Norton, please remove it for some time till your computer is relieved and then, Re-install it.

To speed up your computer, try the following -

1. Best way - Defragment your Computer. I suggest many times in a day initially and then on a daily basis

2. Use some Junk File & Registry Cleaner like CCleaner

3. Use Windows Defender to manage your Computer's Start Up Entries

4. Get rid of Unwanted Programs by uninstalling them.

Hope, it helps :)

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

How do I make my machine run faster?

--------------------------------

First step is to make sure you have adequate RAM. For XP and Vista 2 GB of RAM is recommended.

Sweep your machine clean of viruses and spyware

Then, reduce the number of processes that it runs at startup - scanners, toolbars, automatic updating things, IM clients, whatever. Everything that runs in the background makes your machine a bit slower. Delete the c**pware that comes from the computer manufacturer that you never use.

To change Startup programs, use the System Configuration utility. Control Panel > Classic View > Administrative Tools > System Configuration utility

Or, get the Autoruns program (free) to turn off startup items http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

In Vista, Control Panel > Programs > click Change startup programs.

Remember that Windows needs a bunch of different startup resources, so don't delete them unless you know what they are.

Turn off the eye-candy, the interface shadows and zooms. Set your Control panel for maximum performance.

Make sure your operating system, video and motherboard drivers, and system software are up to date.

Clean out caches with CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com

Run Microsoft Disk Clean Up (All Programs > Accessories > System Tools)

Delete old programs that you never use.

If your hard drive is nearly full, either delete a bunch of stuff and defragment, or consider upgrading to a new larger, faster hard drive. Hard drives slow down dramatically as they fill up,

I tried using it. ITS A SCAM!!! Don't trust any of those phony products! They are all fake! They aren't spy/malware, but they definitely don't work and instead screw up your registry.
