Build your own computer. It is a thousand times more powerful, AND costs less then buying it prebuilt

It would be a better choice if you assemble your computer, especially since you are able to build it for your specific application at a lower cost. Also, a 12-core processor wouldn't make any significant difference when gaming. It is all about the GPU. A quad core CPU (such as the Core i7) is all that is really needed along with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. You could trade the cost of a really expensive CPU for something like a GTX 670 (better price to performance ratio) or 680. If you are going for the 670, try going for an over clocked model with an extended PCB, since you will achieve performance that is close to a GTX 680 at a $100 less. Web design doesn't require a lot of resources. Lastly, the Mac Pro seems more suited for server applications, especially with it's 2 Xeon processors and ECC RAM (built in error correction, but slower than non-ECC). It wouldn't perform as well graphically and is a definite overkill for web development. Have a look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4PDoy-mi0A&feature=plcp

I think you're on the right path, it's a really fast PC, should be cheaper than Alienware, and you'll have a lot of processing power, especially if any of your apps can use CUDA or AVX. Just make sure all the software you use on your Mac have have Windows equivalents.

I don't recommend Hackintosh. Not only is illegal, it's just way too incompatible. Anyway you might also consider a Mac laptop if you often meet customers.

I don't know about that PC company, especially when they misspell RAID... I like that they mention brand names of most parts. Check BBB, blogs, warranty, etc. The only thing I don't like is that I think those motherboards don't support the latest Ivy Bridge (those CPUs aren't that much faster, but can use faster RAM). Maybe you might wait till they use newer motherboards and Windows 8. Upgrade from 7 is cheap but not free.

circulate with a mac laptop. the recent OS X "Leopard" can do way better than vista anyhow, and there are video games obtainable for mac. Oct. twenty 6th i'm making plans on determining to purchase the recent iMac for $1199 if it comes pre put in wth leopard. anyhow, a mac is plenty extra solid than a computer, i exploit them the two interior an identical day (macs in school, my laptop at homestead) and that i like mac because of the fact the OS isn't a POS. homestead windows freezes each and all the time and continuously is at risk of viruses which may even destroy your no longer trouble-free stress. Mac's are based on the unix OS, a unmarried kernel working device, which makes them plenty much less susceptible. in case you think of roughly it, mac is a extra suitable purchase than laptop, effective it fee slightly better than a computer, yet interior the top it could additionally out. purchase a webcam, anti virus, probable spend money repairing stupid blunders on your laptop, upload some desent utility and you probable spent better than that on a computer, once you have merely offered a mac. And the OS will take a pair of day to examine if that, it relatively is plenty much less complicated to function than a computer. And apple has a help menu interior the menu bar that has laptop to Mac translations (all courses=macintosh hd, etc.)
