Question:
Error \system32\ntoskrnl.exe?
2008-01-11 19:00:52 UTC
I have the error message that is above. When i turn on my compute i get three options to chose from

1)Windows Xp Media Center Edition
2) Windows Xp Home Edition
3) Windows Xp Recovery Console

I choose 1 and it takes me to a blank desktop that has none of my files and very little memory space. Option 2 gives me the error stated above and tells me its corrupted or needs to be reinstalled. Option 3 was my last hope, but when i try to recover i put all the administrator passwords i know and it says my password is invalid. Please help me..i believe option 2 is where all my data is and i cant access it because of the error.

*NOTE: I HAVE NO CDS IM USING A COMPAQ PRESARIO THAT HAD EVERYTHING PREINSTALLED WITH NO CDS WHAT SO EVER, ALSO I CANNOT USE SYSTEM RECOVERY WHEN MY COMPUTER FIRST STARTS..I PRESS F10 BUT IT WONT WORK*

Any help would be really appreciated ^_^

Usually the Administrator password is blank just hit enter.

On boot did you try hitting F8 and do a load last known good configuration?

Or F8 and boot in safe mode then restore to an earlier/oldest date.

Also a virus is usually the problem with that file.

Well, all I can think of is, go to Best Buy or somewhere that sells computer stuff, buy a copy of Windows XP or Vista (If your computer can handle it, even if it can I don't reccomend it... I have it and hate it.) and then put in the cd and the thing will give you the steps to reinstall.

Put your OS disk in the CD/DVD drive. Click start/ My Computer/ right click on the CD/DVD drive, and select view files. Browse the CD for the file, and reinstall it.
