I've been able to force install XP on several of the newer systems but was stopped by certain drivers for certain hardware and had to stop. Be cautious if you attempt to install XP on some brand new systems (Like the HP DV9000 series). It seems to be more of an issue with laptops than desktops. The sata drivers seem to stop most folk. However, be patient if that is your issue. When XP first starts installing, you need to press F6 when it asks if you have SCSi drivers. Download the drivers for your motherboard SATA drivers (also referred to as Chipset drivers) and have them ready on a floppy. Other than that, just check for XP compatible drivers at each of the hardware manufacturer' sites before you go for it.

well, whats going on here, did you pirate? if so then you deserve problems from microsoft, thats what you get for tampering with the gods! Okay on how to fix it... You want to get rid of almost all of the updates... just not service pack 2. Then you want to install them ALL back onto your machine excluding, "Windows Genuine Advantage Update"... This mofos job is to deny you access to windows updates if you dont have a legit copy of windows... So when you have all the updates installed this is what to do, GO BACK to microsofts site... install the genuine update by itself restart computer go to IExplorer... Go to tools Internet Options programs tab manage add-ons Go through the list until you find anything that resembles "windows genuine valadation tool" or anything along the lines its called like wga or wgu or something... DISABLE that... once you do this you are free to get current updates whenever... if your computer can operate and you just meant that you cant get any updates, just skip the un-install steps and head right to setting up your internet explorer... any questions you can message me.

Call the manufacturer of the program you are trying to install. The will help and if they can't they should give you a refund. I agree about vista it is messed up. I looked it over and stayed with xp.

If you have already vista installed on your pc, you can't install XP. Format the system and then try installing XP.

the reason is some of the hardware the xp does not support or have drivers for that grade pc.

your pc is of high spec.

what you can try is wipe you hard drive and reformat it .

you need to know your dos commands for that.

than try clean install of xp .

if it works than go to msn for update.
