so i waas in safe mode scanning ith a few different programs to clean my computer (avira/malwarebytes/ad-aware/spybot search and destroy) after i did all that i needed to reboot so that it could delete the infected memory files. so as i did that everythig seemed good until it went to the accout log in screen. now on my laptop it usually skips it since i dont share my laptop with anyone else but as i clicked on my account it said "loggin in" the a few seconds of waiting the screen flickers and then it says logging out and such not letting me sign in at all (all this happens on that blue account sccreen on xp). so ive tried rebooting in all possible modes (safe mode/reverting to last saved config., all the options) yet same thing still happens at the blue screen. i hope i dont have to reformat because i have a lot of files that i need that i havent backed up yet and id lose a lot of other stuff like my music/movies/couple other programs. anyone got any advice?

Evidently, one of the things you were trying to remove has left you something to remember it by. I don't know if you want to do this, but personally rather than continue to fight with my PC, I will remove the hard drive. You can either slave it into another computer or use an enclosure to connect it via USB and pull off all your important files as a backup. Put the drive back into the computer and format and reinstall the OS and restore the backed up data. Alternatively, you could get the XP install CD and reinstall the operating system WITHOUT FORMATTING the drive. It should just replace the OS files/folders and not touch your data. However, I would do the backup first as outlined above.

This sounds like a tuff one. If you are unable to boot into the Administrator account in Safe Mode (Press and Hold F8 at Windows Boot) then you may have a problem.

If you still cannot get it you can try to recover the WindowsXP installation by using your CD. More info on that here:

You can try to backup some files by running a LiveCD such as Ubuntu Linux as well. Just pop in the LiveCD navigate to your Hard Disk and copy all the files you want to the virtual desktop, then burn them using the Brasero Burning application.

Hope this helps.

Hate to tell you this but you will have to reformat. Whatever you did, it was probably just one click but I had nearly the exact same thing.

Don't do what I did, I followed someones advice to start up with F 10 or F11 can't remember when. I also did not have the back up you say you don't. In the end by my trying it myself the hard drive wound up having an error that was the Manufacturers fault. I am getting it repaired with no cost but it is all gone. Lost 3 different huge assignments and had to start from scratch....sucks.

Registry Tooklkit's Startup management helps you customize your startup list and eliminate startup clutter.

It reduces the time it takes for your computer to start by removing unnecesary programs that use up valuable system resources. This is the biggest speed boost you can give to your computer without upgrading any harware.http://clean-computer-registry-faster.info

The Disk from which you're setting up Xp isn't good...choose for different one NTLDR is a document in the commencing up of ur BOOT technique..and its being broken subsequently u can not do it... eeven you could manually deploy purely the NTLDR document from yet another good disk yet its no longer elementary..

first you should to check on your registry, The registry size keeps growing when you use Windows. When the registry becomes very large, your computer's performance will be decayed and unstable.Installing and uninstalling software will make your registry a mess, leading to bring pc problems, example decrease pc performance and causing computer crashes ,freeze, blue screen, start up slowly.
