Upgrading PC questions?

I brought my good PC to school, but i have my old spare one at home for when i'm back on vacation. I really want to upgrade the CPU and video card. current CPU is amd athlon xp 2400+, and current video card is an ATI all in wonder 9600 series 128mb. Any advice on what CPU and video card would be a good upgrade would be appreciated! I haven't really been worried about upgrading the ram, only 1.5 gigs, but im running XP so it seems alright. here is a link to the motherboard. Thanks again!

At this point, that system is not worth upgrading at all, at least from a cost perspective.



In you want a better system, you need to start from square one. The only possible usable part is the case, and just maybe, for now, the PSU and OS license



For a budget system to just use, maybe get one of those AMD Fusion motherboards. You might be able to get that working for under $200.



My preference would be to get an H67 or Z68 Micro ATX or full sized ATX motherboard,4GB DDR3 RAM PSU with expansion capability, SATA storage, and a Core i3 to start. Maybe $500 for that.

first,don't think about upgrading your cpu . upgrading cpu is very difficult to be done by yourself .it's not simple as upgrading RAM or video card . i'm sure u want to DIY or you wouldn't be asking this question ,u would ask the professional person who upgrade it for u. since your cpu can't be upgraded so these is no need to upgrade video card
