hey, I have a solution for questions

Install Hard Drive

Step1

Turn off the computer and unplugg the power cord.

Step2

Remove the computer cover.

Step3

Touch a metal part of the computer to ground yourself, or use a grounding strap. A kitchen table is a great place to work on a computer because of the flat space and the lack of static.

Step4

Locate the ribbon cable connected to the existing hard drive.

Step5

Change the master/slave designation of the second hard drive

Step6

Connect the second hard drive to the second connector on the cable (colored strip should be closest to the power cable). If the cable does not have a second connector, replace it with one that does, or use a second ribbon cable to attach the second hard drive to the motherboard (if a second drive port is available).

Step7

Connect an available power cable to the hard drive.

Before installing a second hard drive you have to check the ports to plug for data and power supply for the hard disk

Modern Hard drives are SATA{This hard disk need a converter for power,if u don't have POWER CABLE for sata hard drive, you have to buy it from the shop, and for a sata cable there is a data cable red in color

connect it to hard drive and connect it to the sata port in them otherb oard

If you are using IDE Hard drive, there will be a wide data cable ash color, that wide slot will be there to connect into mother board,if u have only one ide slot in the mother board you have to set jumper in the primary hard disk and connect from the primary hard drive

Check what type of drive your motherboard supports. If it is IDE you will need to set tiny jumper links on the back of the drive to make it a slave or master according to how you want to connect it. If it is SAT it is easier. You just need to connect power and data cables. without knowing more about your machine there is not much more we can help you with.

first you have to buy a second hand hard disk. if you have one, take a look at the jumper setting of the second hard disk that you have bought, this will set into slave, you may see the jumper setting in front of the hard disk. after setting the jumper of the hardisk, connect this 2nd hard disk in your IDE cable. Open your computer and continously press the delete key on your keyboard to go to CMOS/BIOS setting. You may see if the 2nd hard disk have been dedected by going to auto detect hard disk

It is probably because your windows is no longer using DMA on your boot drive or possibly both drives. You can check for it this way. Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" , in the pop up window that follows, go to "Hardware" tab, and click on "Device Manager", navigate down to "IDE ATA Controllers" and double click on it, now double click on primary and secondary channels in turn and make sure that both drives are using DMA for transfer mode ( under advance settings), if one or more are not , then that is the cause of your slow boot, to cure it, right click on main ATA controller ( not the primary or secondary but the third item) and choose "Uninstall" , the system will ask you , if you are sure, and then ask you to reboot, on next reboot, they will get identified and installed and 9 out of 10, windows will get it right, reboot one more time, and you should be OK.
