while booting the computer , while it was updating the configuration settings, i switched off the computer, and powered it up again, it did boot and is functioning ok, but the display is all screwed up, meaning the resolution has become blurry and the font size has increased , so i dont see some of the shortcuts on my desktop implying some file (display related might be corrupted). Any resolution of the above problem. Please inform, its urgent.

Right click on your desktop and click properties, settings, advanced and change your resolution. After you find the resolution you desire you may also find that you will have to adjust your monitor also. There should be knobs or a control panel on your monitor to do this.

Reboot and start your computer in " Safe Mode ". Normally you can do this by pressing ' F8 ' when the computer is about to load the OS. Once in safe mode set you computer to the lowest possible Resolution / Color and then reboot it so that you still boot normally but with lower resolution / Color. Now update your computer all over again. Then when its done updating set the resolution and Color to the correct ratio that you require.

Another thing, a benign advice, use the computer because you need to use it. It is not a toy that you can use as you wish.

press F8 while booting, it will bring you to the safe mode, fix your problem from there.

right click on the desktop -- properties -- tab setting

adjust the screen resolution from there

Hold down the CTRL key and roll the mouse wheel until it is back to normal.
