Computer Help?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

My computer is completely messed up. I can't get any sound and everything i click it says application not found. For example when I go to control panel and click on sound and audio devices, it says application not found. And everytime I try to click something in the start, it aks me to choose the program I want to open the file with. It even asks me this when I click on the calculator in the start menu. And everytime I try to restore my computer it says application not found. So what should I do? I was thinking about erasing everthing from my computer and starting completely over but I do not know how. Can someone help me?
I have a Windows XP desktop.
I don not have any of the CDs or disks that came with the computer.

F8 key hit repeatedly after powerup select safe mode. go to programs/ Accessories/ System tools/ and select restore.



pick a date to restore from that you KNOW was good like a few days before this happened and run it

No fresh detail. Install all harddrive software from motherboard cd. Install a good antivirus. If nothing you can, open youtube and write your problems shortly.

Why don't you try restarting your computer? Or just call customer service.
