I had PC my whole life too and I finally decided to buy a Mac which was the greatest decision I've ever made. Not only is it great but also has a lot more things then a PC. Better lasting battery, it's a lot faster, can easily connect to iPhone or iPad. Also you have alot of programs in which you can create professional things. I would honestly pick Apple Mac over any computer. I suggest you get it you really won't regret it.

simple answer: it just doesn't matter. the only significant difference is which OS gets installed on the hardware. and really, anything you can do in Mac OS, you can do in Windows OS. every major tool either is published for both OS, or has a functionally equivalent alternate.

longer answer: it really, Really, REALLY depends on exactly what you want to do with it.

you have a hundred different i-devices? mac is probably less hassle.

you want to be a gamer? pc, hands down. (actually, consoles are really taking over here, but that's an entirely different argument)

assuming the same/ equivalent hardware... the cheapest systems are PC desktops.. and then PC Laptops. Mac desktops are still more expensive, and finally Mac laptops top the chart.

Laptops require smaller, more power-efficient components, and so are obviously a price-step above desktops.

However Macs are more expensive than PC's simply because... Apple says so. years ago, they were totally different beasts.. but the modern mac uses virtually identical hardware to a modern pc. so what -do- you get for paying all that extra money? mostly a (false) belief that you've purchased a superior (identical) product. if PC's were zebras, they would be black horses with white stripes... and Mac's would be white horses with black stripes. (well, maybe a few years ago they would have been white with brilliant rainbow stripes, but anyway..)

yes, there -are- some differences, but for the average user, it's basically cosmetic.

so again.. it's back to simple practical evaluations; what do you want to do with it?

if you want to be a computer tech or something along those lines, getting to learn MacOS could be fun, interesting, and good experience for the future.

if you simply crave that unfounded air of superiority some mac users wear, well, nothing else will provide it.

if you just want to get stuff done, why putz around learning a new operating system? stick with the one you already know, and find the right programs to do it with.

or hell, go crazy, get 2 HDD's and run dual-boot mac -and- windows... just to blow everyone's mind.

There's no best answer to this. If you ask this question you will always get opinionated answers. Seeing as you already own a PC, why not have best of both worlds and also get a Mac?

Then the best of both worlds would be for you to build your own computer and install mac OS X on it, in other words: a hackingtosh. But you have to select the parts carefully because not all components will work with mac OS. Do some research, i'm sure there's a forum or website dedicated to the hackingtosh project that'll teach you which parts to use.

The most obvious website would be http://www.hackintosh.com/

why not buy a Notebook or Tablet PC? even MAC got a good looking(have you know that MAC OS X transformation pack?~if you want to feel Mac OS for your windows), but i suggest you to buy a notebook with Nvidia,AMD, INTEL, etc-Based computer. because they got a better performance, and easy to upgrade your Hardware component. and you know, there is most of free and paid software(i never Paid for a Paid software because i can crack the software to a full-version) are supported with that Notebook or Tablet PC against Mac...

but its your choice...

Well if your looking to use it for professional project and such go for a Mac. If your going for ANYTHING else go for a PC. Macs are way more expensive though but if you have the budget go for it.
