Couple of issues: residing house windows XP won't boot from an exterior USB force devoid of a lot of custom tweaking. That became right into a planned act via Microsoft. What ought to artwork is residing house windows booting from the CD. Restart the device, and bypass into the BIOS. locate the place you specify the boot order and make it CD -> HDD -> others. that should make your gadget attempt as properly from the CD - it is going to ask you to hit any key to proceed booting from the CD. If it would not boot from the CD, or you do no longer hit any key, the boot technique is going back to the traditional trend, which appears like a foul HDD on your case. If all else fails, attempt booting a various computing gadget from that XP CD. this is plausible the CD itself is broken.
