my computer shuts down at random times usually every hour or so, it might be a virus but i don't have enough time to run a scan between shutdowns. its not really a shutdown it just turns off like someone pulled the plug.

i was thinking about doing a restore but iv allrdy doing 5+ since i had it so it prolly wouldnt fix the problem, its been doing this now for a couple months or so and people are starting to hack my computer bcuz i can't run the scans so its really started to become a problem

Win7 RC was a pre-release and the time trial is up on the Win 7 RC they programed it to shut down like it is doing. You will have to get the full version to stop it.I would get the Windows 7 home 64 bit.

I had the same problem. It sounds like your computer is overheating. Just to check, if you have it in a cabinet, take it out. Then take the side panel off and use it for as long as you need. If it stays on longer than it is now, it's an overheating issue. If that is the problem, don't leave the cover off instead of addressing the issue. It's not good for the computer. Instead, take the heat sink off of your processor, clean it thoroughly, then since you'll be able to see your processor clean all of the old paste off the top of it, then reapply some new thermal paste to it. I used "Arctic Silver Thermal Paste" on mine. All you need is the size of a grain of rice on your processor then smear it evenly across all sides.

It could be a 'halt' instead of a virus. A halt is when your computer overheats and the system shuts down to protect itself. Try opening up the bottom of the laptop and cleaning it out by spraying the vents with a bottle of canned air.

The close downs are probable a results of overheating. that's extremely commonplace for laptops, for quite a few motives: lots of the vents are in lots of circumstances lined for the period of use, particularly in the event that they are placed on the lap or on any mushy fabric. over the years, detritus will enhance between the fan and the heatsink- in simple terms August, I unfold out my six year old computing device and pulled out a sturdy buildup of lint. My computing device were robotically over heating till then- now i will run it even on carpet and not making use of a topic. once you're delicate establishing up your computing device, accomplish that. verify how the airflow strikes, and perceive any areas that hair/dirt would enhance in and sparkling them with rubbing alcohol. in case you're no longer, attempt blowing the vents with compressed air or sending it someplace for provider. EDIT: regrettably, batteries in simple terms lose their potential to recharge over the years. you will the two want a sparkling one, or in simple terms supply up leaving it unplugged completely.
