easy upgrade alienware that is a folly..

Alienware

+ Support from dell as a whole system

+ Stability since they check compatibility in labs

- No future Proof as upgrade always not possible from 3rd party

- Much more price for less performance

- don't have choices

Custom Build

+ have choices

+ Flexibility

+ Bang for buck

+ Future proof as upgrade possible

+ Individual warranty for every parts

- No combined Support

- Unless you choose proper PSU you will have High power draw

- Compatibility issues may occur

If you choose to make Custom build

Always check compatibility lists when choosing ram

Get a good psu

Building your own Desktop can cause a lot of headaches especially if it's for Windows. On a Linux system people have no problems with drivers. The problem you will have to install drivers of the hardware in the system. That's no Dell or Asus driver download. Just drivers from every hardware in the computer. Unless you need some sought of super video system, among other things, it's easier to get a standard form factors ensure that parts are interchangeable across competing vendors and generations of technology, while in enterprise computing, form factors ensure that server modules fit into existing rackmount systems.
