I made this computer on a custom computer building website, is this worth the £951 quoted including VAT and delivery. Or is there better websites with reasonably powerful computers for general home use and ability to play movies with good picture etc.

Thank you in advance

Overpriced much? I think so, but it's actually about right when you go pre-built like that. I am currently building a rig extremely similar to this one and the total rig is about 900USD which is roughly 150-200BP less than the one you have here (depending on the current exchange rate). Wanna know the differences though.

No and I'm better that was built on PCspecialist.co.uk

I was originally going to shop there and thought their prices were good. Turns out that's not the case.

Forget about Office software you can download free versions of that via download.com - don't worry about anti-virus. You can get surge protection extension sockets for about 4 quid in Asda etc, the list goes on.

Not only that but you could build something better on www.overclockers.co.uk for cheaper, then pick up the other accessories like printers else where to lower the price.

In a way its hard to quantify because theres lots there that i wouldn't of bothered with ie: I have ym own copy of vista ultimate so wouldn't of bought that.

But to put it in perspective i built my own pc start to finish for £600 for just the box and my spec is as follows:-

Core2 Quad q8300 2.5GHz 13333fsb CPU

2x2GB OCZ Raptor DDR2 800mhz RAM

MSI P7N Platinum Socket 775 nforce 750i 3 x SLI mobo

Inno3D Nvidia 9800GTX+ OC 512MB Graphics card

Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 500GB Hard Disk

Lian Li Silver Polished Aluminium Case

Sony DVDRW

Silver FLoppy

OCZ 600Watt PSU

Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit + Office 2007

So you can see my spec is better than yours for every single componant and yet it cost me 600 quid some months ago.

So basically i'd reccomend building a pc yourself and possibly getting a hooky copy of vista ultimate :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, on a serious note you need to ask for a better PSU, even with dual rails 350 watts is ridiculously low. I would reccomend at least a 600 watt one and make sure its a good make OCZ do nice PSU's for about £50.

I'm not good with foreign currency, but that is a good hardware configuration for high def gaming, no doubt about that. I bought a $600 USD basic computer and changed the video card from an OEM GeForce G100 to a Galaxy GeForce 9600GT for superior gaming graphics.
