Get a better CPU and GPU (at least an HD7790) if you wanted to game decently on 1080p.

What will you get in terms of gaming? Short answer: Not much.

If you want a machine that can game a wide variety of games, you're going to have to go quad core. It's not much more expensive and the benefits justify the costs. I know there are thousands of people who will argue to no end that 'dual core is enough' but the reality is, it isn't.

Also, I'd upgrade your graphics card to at least an HD 7850 for extensive gaming. The 7750 is the bear minimum for gaming and really isn't meant to do much.

Finally, upgrade your RAM to 8GB. This isn't *completely* necessary, however as PC games start to grab more RAM, it's just good to be prepared for the future.

This is a good build.

MY OPINION

I do not like this line of processors. I have the AMD FX-8350. It has more cores than I use. It never overheats. It has 4.2 (Turbo+overclocked) clockspeed and it just runs everything I throw at it perfectly. The GPU is fabulous. Unfortunately I couldnt afford that at the time so I settled with the 6870 but that is a trusted GPU. You didnt list Power supply so I would go with something 450-700 Watts. I would get another stick of RAM. Just to be safe.

FACTS

This build will most likely run most games in medium settings.

Games like skyrim and battlefield 4, call of duty, medium settings. High might push it a little. As for sports games like FIFA or MLB, or Minecraft, you NEED another stick of RAM.

-This processor is a good one, it has good reviews and specs.

the ONLY thing I would point out again is another stick of RAM and the PSU (450-700W)

Good luck!

From experience, you'll never get a decent gaming build for that kind of price.

I payed nearly that for just my graphics card, and my computer still probably wouldn't run newer games on max settings.

That build would probably get you around 30fps in the lower settings of relatively recent games. But, it wont keep up with new games for long, so don't expect to be playing anything great in 2014 with it.

If I were you I'd save a little longer, and at least get a decent CPU. AMD FX-8100 is pretty good, or the Intel equivalent if you can afford the little extra.

id get the max ram in the most dims possible, more bandwidth the better. amd likes bandwidth. you should be able to play most everything on normal settings. id get a better psu too, the ones that come with the cases scare me. i have one from a dell pc from 2003 thats still kicking, and antec pcus have served me well.
