Question:
My computer doesn't boot up or have a beep on start up?

I have to use my laptop for this question. So don't ask how I'm asking this question.
I have recently built a computer. I plugged everything in, and checked it at least 4 times. I plugged in the 24pin and 4pin connectors on the motherboard, and I will tell my specs later. When I get everything all plugged in and I turn it on, the PSU, CPU fan, and DVD all work, but nothing shows on the monitor. Nor do I get a beeping sound, so this obviously means I don't automatically go into BIOS. And this recent term I have recently learned, P.O.S.T., does't happen either, which I believe it means Power On Self Test (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm only 13.). So like I said, all fans run, the DVD tray pops out when I program it to, and everything works, but nothing shows on the monitor. I don't know if my motherboard has a integrated video card, and I don't have a video card put in the PCIe x16 slot either, but I'm waiting to stay the night at my dads house so I can get it. I'm scared that it won't ever work. I don't know if my Motherboard has an integrated video card, but I will quickly try to get the video card from my father. I just switched out my RAM for the other stick, and I haven't tested it yet, but I will soon.

Specs- Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P AM3+ Motherboard
AMD Phenom ii x4 965 3.4GHz CPU
x1 Stick of 4Gb RAM as that is the only stick I can fit as the CPU fan takes up a lot of space.
No Video card installed at this time, and HDD space doesn't matter for this question.

Please help. I have given only a few details but I'm sure there are a lot of helpful answers out there.

Try removing your RAM and HDD. Make sure all are connected from the PSU (Power Supply)

Then turn On the PC. Check if there is a continuous beep. If there is, your Motherboard is ok.

Try inserting your RAM, check if it beeps. If you hear a beep but only one, then your motherboard worked with the RAM which will let you show your POST and the rest of Windows.

Now connect your HDD, then connect your PC on the monitor. The integrated video card is the Blue Port on the back of your PC. Dedicated Video Cards are external video cards, the one on PCI-E slot connected. Check if it beeped once, if it did, check your monitor if it shows anything. If nothing, then it might be the monitor, the power cord or the VGA cord has the problem.

If doing Step 1 and there is no beep on the mother board, then your motherboard is toasted.

Doing Step 2, then inserting the RAM would still beep continuously, then you have a faulty RAM.

First question: Did you connect your monitor to the CPU? ( The blue small port for analog monitors and White wider port for digital) If you did, then your motherboard has an integrated Graphics.

You might want to place the RAM on the left most port. If that does not work, Try switching ports and starting the PC every time to see that works.

Assumption: There could be a problem with the motherboard as it doesn't beep.

I have the same processor, as far as I know, with Gigabyte boards, you need to run a VGA connection until you can get into Windows to install the drivers.

Not only that, I dont think the Phenom II x4 965 has integrated graphics, hence being an extreme OC processor, made to be overclocked and used in high end systems.

That MOBO does have onboard video. About a year ago I built my first desktop as well. I had the same issue and it was my RAM that was faulty.
