I am going to buy a new pc, but am not sure if the processor should be intel or AMD. I have heard AMD are great in pc's but not in laptops and the other way round for intel.
I am going to use the pc for quite alot of gaming, and am thinkning of hosting the new Nvidida 9088 GTX Grahpics card. Thx

personally i love AMD. Intel is currently making the fastest processors but they are way too expensive for my taste. but really any CPU that runs at over 5.6GHz you wont see much improvement in gaming. ( that means 2.8GHz per core in a dual core) its ALL about the graphics card in games today. even a cheap computer with a monster graphics card will have great performance.

Currently I recommend Intel, simply because the cost:performance ratio is better. Intel recently slashed the prices of their quad core chips to compete with the new AMD X4s. So you can buy a AMD X4 black edition for $225 or thereabouts, or you can buy a Q6600 (2.4Ghz, but overclockable on the stock cooler to ~3.2-3.6 [YMMV, as with any overclocking]) for $200 [Microcenter B&M Deal only]. While the Intel quad cores have a top locked multiplier, you could buy a "Intel Extreme" (completely unlocked) but that will cost you >$1000.
Even if you went with dual cores, the Intels generate less heat (especially if you go with 45nm Wolfdale chips), and they're still reasonably priced.

Use intel. AMDs are generally hotter processors.
Each degree of heat is lost performance. Intel is notoriously good in multitasking. Intel is a good trusted brand.
AMD is the cheaper alternative. You pay for what you get.
Nvidia is eons better than ATI. ATI tends to be cheaper and lower quality. Most ATI features are clones of Nvidia.Nvidia is supported by most new games.8800Ultra in SLi is the best set of graphics card a user could get.

Hey, i would really suggest you purchase a amd dual core cpu if you are planning to run this card, the amd athlon 64 x 2 6400 3.2ghz is a great processor and performs very well in gaming and at a excelent price two of only £103, the intel series i find are rather expensive but performe the best under intense gaming. hope it helps.

Intel best for office and videos but some new Intel have improve their processor for gaming but I still choose AMD, with AMD K-7 Codename:Spider and AMD Phenom X4(Quad Core) it's make your perfect battle machine for playing some games
NVIDIA 9088 GTX it's maybe good but try with ATI ones, because they have some cheap price better than NVIDIA and they Pixel and Vertex Shaderts are much better than NVIDIA

AMD alllll the way babyy.
I've always had custom built computers with AMD, and never ever incured a single problem, and i game constantly. I hear Intel is a bit scratchy for gamers.
I wouldn't buy a single thing from Intel. =) <- personally.

DRM (Intel) or no DRM (AMD) with XP, so far.
The price difference is "Icing on the cake".
Search for DRM on Wikipedia.
