i installed windows xp black edition some months ago, now its showing some problem. when i start my computer at the boot sector it shows a message showing its system information like
intel(R) dual processor, 3.0 ghz etc, and below it it shows msg like this: detecting sata 1: sata 1 found, again detecting sata 2 and sata 4..., this happens everytime i start my computer,
and after the windows starts, everything is normal but i cant see my dvd drive, so i usually open my cpu and change the port for sata1 and sata2, then i can see my dvd drive, but after some time the problem is persists , no dvd drive. i found no answer for this problem anywhere. help me

You may want to enter into your BIOS (follow directions on startup when it says something like "press F1 to enter setup", and see if you have all your hard disks enabled, on SMART, and on auto-discover. Then check the boot-from-disk order. That order should be something like CD/DVD drive, then hard disk. It may be worded differently but that's the gist of it. I have had BIOS settings just change on me before. I wouldn't try opening the machine to resolve a SATA problem.

Try reinstalling XP but use the Repair option instead of reinstalling everything. The Black Edition is pirated and probably full of trojans. I'd install a fresh copy of just good ol' XP...

Is it attainable that the slowness replaced into a demonstration that the no longer basic force replaced into failing? If the force is undesirable it won't artwork. try formatting it first as that would fasten out undesirable sectors, then do a reload.
