Getting it started is different depending on what operating system.

With Windows 7 all you need to do is insert the disc.

In windows XP you need to enter your BIOS and tell the computer to boot to your CD or DVD ROM drive first. This will load the basic XP files into memory and start the reinstall process. After that its pretty simple just follow the on screen instructions.

If your unfamiliar with your BIOS, look for something called boot order. Usually your Hard drive is in the first position, you will have to change the CD rom or DVD rom to the first position then save and exit. Then restart the computer with the XP disc in the drive and your computer will boot up to that disc.

Its talked about as a restore disk, in case you cant discover it call up dell and they'll deliver you a loose one. Edit: Jonh you're a retard, if he does that with out backing up his drivers his pc turns right into a heavy paper weight.

If you have the operating system disk, then you should easily be able to re-install it.
