Question:
Unable to turn pc on?

I had a trojan earlier this week, something to do with Whitesmoke Translator...thought I got rid of it via Malware Bytes Anti-malware, and AVG (free edition), but then I started getting a "Just-in-time debugger" pop up regarding Microsoft Script Editor. Found a way to get that to stop, but around the same time, I started getting a "Generic Host process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needs to close" pop up. Regardless of what I did with that (Send Error Report, Don't Send, "X" out), it would freeze any web browser(s) and ultimately require me to shut down completely. My wife was on the computer last night when this happened. She tried to shut down using "Start" menu, then by using the Power button, neither of which worked. I ended up turning off the power via the power strip (which is what I had been doing when it happened to me) but now I can't get the computer to turn back on at all. There is a light on the back of the PSU that blinks when I plug the unit in, but if I disconnect the 24 pin main motherboard plug, the indicator light comes on steady. (When I disconnect any other component, the indicator light still blinks.) Does this mean the motherboard is fried? If so and I replace it, is there a risk that the virus is still on the HD and will fry the new motherboard, as well?

On the PSU issue "blinking light"

Seen this many times on HP computers. The PSU needs to be replaced.

You may get lucky and get the computer to turn on by disconnecting the power cord and the 24 pin mobo connector. Let the computer set for about 30 minutes, reconnect the 24 pin and then the power cord.

On the windows error

Restart in Safe Mode (F8 during boot up).

Run virus and malware scans

Uninstall whatever was installed just before you got the trojan.

Could very well be that you are missing or have some damaged files. You did not give your OS type so the answers are brief. 1. What does Event viewer say about these faults. The id# is posted with each fault and a direct link to Microsoft for repairing it yourself. 2. Find Command prompt in your computer. Search will help you locate it. Right click the program. click " run as administrator". When the program shows (black with white letters), type in behind the flashing object, sfc /scannow. Notice the space between c and /, yes it needs to be there. It takes time to do, allow your self this. This will find and replace missing or damaged files. In your case because of a intruder. Hope it helps.

Pull the plug out of the vigour provide and placed it again in, it appears like you'll have tripped a circuit at the case. Your pc nonetheless attracts vigour even if it's off, whilst you pull the plug out it enables the circuit to near and also you must be capable to begin it.
