I have a Dell XPS 410 Desktop and everytime I start it up I get a message telling me about my drive ports and RAID controllers and functions. The message appears right after the Dell logo appears but right before Windows starts up. Everything else works fine nothing wrong except that. I just want to know if there is a way to get rid of that so that I don't have to deal with it every time I start it up. it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute for that message to disappear and then Windows starts up. The message reads this way.
Serial ATA AHCI BIOS, version 1.02.23 11212006
Copyright (c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation
Controller Bus#00, Device#1F, Function#02: 03 Ports, 03 Device
Port-00: Hard Disk, SAMSUNG HD321KJ
(This drive is controlled by the RAID BIOS)
Port-01: CDROM, TSSTcorp CD-RW/DVD-ROM TS-H493B
Port-02: CDROM, TSSTcorp DVD+/-RW TS-H653B
*AHCI BIOS installed
Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager option ROM v6.0.0.1022 ICH8R**

*There is a missing letter here that is cut off by the my screen but i believe that it could be either an A or a D
**There was also another letter or number cut off here but that's pretty much how the message appears. Thanks for any info you may have.

You may find a way to limit the amount of time this message displays , but you need it in case you ever want to make changes to this configuration.

Open the Matrix Manager to see if there's a setting you can change.

That's just your boot up screen, go into the bios, usually by pressing the del key and enable quick start or quick boot. That will disable the memory count that is taking place. There is nothing wrong with your computer, it's just doing what someone told it to do!

Have a computing day!

most times it is called a summary screen and there is an option in your bios to disable it.

if it is a raid controller and you are not using it that can too be disabled in most bios.

only other thing i can think of would be pxe or ethernet boot, they too have a disable option.

It sounds like something has been altered or changed in your computer's BIOS. Obviously, Dell doesn't sell new computers that would display this kind of message when starting up. I would suggest entering the computer's system setup, or BIOS, and navigate to the options list "Maintenance" and selecting "Load System Defaults." Then save the changes, and reboot. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, you may try changing one option at a time in your BIOS setting relating to your Hard Drive and RAID configuration, (it may be improperly setup in Drive Options.)

You can read all about the system setup of your Dell XPS 410 model here:

im gonna be honest with you, its impossible to take that off. You HAVE to have it. especially since ur running on a prebuilt thing from dell. Its called post screen and its automatic and necessary for the computer to run.

IT is just a system message displaying your disk configuration, I dont think there will be a way to get rid of it nor should you want to.
