I want to know how much RAM can my motherboard support?

I got a report done from cpuid.com and now have a .txt file which could be useful to someone who understands this stuff better than I do. So my question is that how much RAM can my motherboard support coz I read recently that only upgrading to XP x64/windows 7(I have windows 32-bit right now_ isnt enough for better RAM support as what motherboard you use also affects how much RAM can be utilized so can anyone help me please? I am posting the rather detailed report below. thank you!

Well lots of info on nothing, thats your CPU and current RAM information. does no good. What you need is the motherboard info. Google the motherboard and youll find the technical specs on it which will tell you the amount of ram you can run on it.

While most of that info in not really use-full it is not a total waste. Is this a store bought computer? If so google the specific make and model for the specs. This will give you a more accurate answer. Anyway now for the guessing part. This looks like a Intel® 945G Express Chipset Motherboard. Looks like it has 2 slots for ram and you can run a 2GB stick in each slot for a total of 4GB's. It takes DDR2 ram and looks like you can run PC2-6400 ram. Now with any 32 bit OS the max it will recognize is 3.75GB's. Probably closer to 3.0GB's. Frankly while it looks like you can run a 64 bit OS, there are other factors that should be researched first though to be sure, I think you should stick with what you have. Which I am guessing is XP. It is an older computer, which I am sure still serves well, but not really worth spending too much on. But since ram is pretty cheap lately might not be a bad idea to grab a 2GB stick to put in Dimm # 1. Which will give you a total of 3GB's. See the link below for an example. I have never used it but have read about the Crucial Memory Advisor™ Tool. Might not be a bad idea to give that a go and see what is says. See the second link. Please be advised this is a lot of guess work on my part. Hopefully this is a store bought computer and you can find the specs on it to get a more accurate answer like I mentioned earlier. Umm not to sure but it will probably about 4GB
