Due to price only, a mac is a jewish princess, given everything by here daddy when she was growing up. No need went un-met.

A PC is a guy who grew up dirt-poor on the other side of the tracks, had to constantly defend himself from his peripherals getting stolen and has logged plenty of hours keeping out of trouble (aka blue screen of death).

The PC would mop the floor with the Mac, although the Mac would talk and ANNOY the PC, starting the fight (think Janice from the show Friends).

Lets just say that PC, as what appears in Mac commercials is old and out of ideas. It has virtually no limits in terms of hardware upgrades and more users around the world use them.

On the other hand, Mac is a PC made white(Macbook Pro) and Thin(Macbook Air). It features a wide array of gadgets and tools that you dont really need but are essential if you want to use your computer with ease.

now moving on to the question:

if these two were people. who would win?

In my opinion, PC will. Basically for the fact that he has done so well over the years in developing new tactics and plans to remove Mac from the top spot in the world market. but Mac, hmmm, that's a different story. They say that they're the best. They say they're technological(which is true) but in prolonged use of the device, stuff would soon go wrong and eventually leads to the demise of your 1000$ plus machine.

please read this(extract from "giving hope"'s answer)

Myth: Macs dont get viruses.

Fact: Okay, this is a true statement but in some degree, its not true because you can never make an OS 100% safe. Mac viruses do exist, but they are extremely rare. However, if you know how to use an antivirus and how to properly take care of your PC, you should be fine. I use this thing called an antivirus and I'm worry-free. I never gotten a virus since I was a child, when I didnt know anything about computers.

Myth: Macs look better.

Fact: It really depends on one's opinion... Just because you think macs are better, it doesn't mean its a 100% complete fact.

Myth: OS-X never crashes. Windows crashes all the time LOL!

Fact: Actually, OS-X does crash as well, its called "kernel panic". In windows, most crashes are caused by badly coded drivers or malware, not the OS itself.

Myth: Macs are BEST for multimedia!!! PCs sucks! windows movie maker is terrible!!!!

Fact: Okay, I guess I can agree that windows movie maker is kinda bad... but for MY purpose, its good enough because I dont need a powerful movie maker. Mac's iLife is great, but there are other windows multimedia programs; like Adobe's programs like Premier and photoshop, and Sony vegas.

Myth: Macs last longer. PCs break in a year.

Fact: Sure, macs do last long because Apple tends to use high quality parts, no cheaply made hardware. However, if you can find a quality computer, then the quality is good as a mac. Buy crappy PCs or used PCs is the only possible exception that makes this myth true.

Myth: I got a Gateway computer. It broke. EVERYONE DONT GET GATEWAY!!! IT BREAKS EASILY!!!

Fact: Just to let you know, just because your gateway computer broke, it DOESNT mean it will be reflected back to other people. A single personal experience doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to every Gateway computer owners.

Myth: Its easier to use.

Fact: It sure is. Just because its easy for YOU, it doesn't mean its easy for everyone. It DOESNT apply to everyone. People who recently switched to macs maybe confused because they are so used to PCs. Every operating system, including windows and OSX, it will be easy to use sooner or later.

Myth: I have Apple-branded stuff, people gonna think im cool and sexy!

Fact: Nobody cares if you have a mac or not. nobody is going to think your cool just because you have a mac. Would you be like "OMFG!!! A MAC!!!" when you see a guy using a mac?

Myth: Get a Mac commercials are true.

Fact: Have you noticed that these ads never show the pros of a Mac? If you watch it deeply, they only show the CONS or DISADVANTAGES of a PC, nothing else. The facts on those commercials are a little bit true, but some of the stuff is pure bull. If you get your facts straight with both cons and pros on PCs and Macs, you'll know what Im saying.

Myth: PC sucks!

Fact: People who say this are complete idiots who proved absolutely nothing.

Myth: Mac sucks!

Fact: Have you ever used a mac? I noticed that ALOT of people who say this are those who never used a Mac. Again, people who say this are complete idiots who proved absolutely nothing.

Myth: Vista sucks!! theres so many glitches and bugs!!! i keep getting BSODs!

Fact: Give me a reason why vista sucks. Slow? BSODs? Crashes? Do you know why its so slow? Because you bought the cheapest computer in market and this thing is worthless to vista. Do you know why you got a BSOD or crashed? Because your forcing the computer to install unstable drivers or your watching stuff your not supposed to be watching (you know what Im talking about) and downloading viruses. "Theres so many glitches" Tell me one. Hard huh? You have no reason why vista sucks, you claim that vista sucks with no reason to back up with? I honestly dont know why people say vista sucks.. maybe "go with the flow?".... people who say this have no good reasons on why it sucks.

Myth: Macs run faster/ Macs run windows faster.

Fact: If you compare a low-end computer to a Mac, of course a mac will always win. If you compare a PC and a Mac with the exact same specifications, then they will be the same.

Myth: Macs are way too overpriced!!!

Fact: They are a little bit pricey, but check out sony vaio and see how expensive it is.

Myth: Bill gates copied Steve jobs!!! or VISTA copied OSX!

Fact: He may have done so, but does this prove anything? How does this prove that Macs are better or PCs are better? It doesn't prove anything at all.

Myth: Get a mac.

Fact: Why should I? You have no reason why I should get a mac.

So whats my conclusion? It really doesn't matter because Macs/ PCs aren't necessary better. Either way you go, a PC or a Mac will do fine.

Most people would agree.

As far as hardware, I see this argument as the x86 vs mac despite the mac is now x86 now they kill that with licensing. For example, you have ESX server (the top virtualizaion product in the datacenter to date), while it is possible to install OS X server you cannot due to licensing restriction.

The Mac OS X Server 10.5 license provides for virtualization, albeit on Apple hardware alone. At this time, OS X (server or client) cannot be virtualized by any VM software on the market.

From the license:

-----

2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.

A. Mac OS X Server Software. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Mac OS X Server software (the Mac OS X Server Software) on a single Apple-labeled computer. You may also install and use other copies of Mac OS X Server Software on the same Apple-labeled computer, provided that you acquire an individual and valid license from Apple for each of these other copies of Mac OS X Server Software. You agree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-labeled computer, or to enable others to do so. This License does not allow the Mac OS X Server Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time. Please note that the Apple Software is supported only on Apple-labeled systems that meet the specified system requirements as indicated on the outside of the Mac OS X Server packaging. If you transfer software from one Apple-labeled computer to another Apple-labeled computer, please remember that continued use of the original copy of the software may be prohibited once a copy has been transferred to another computer, unless you already have a licensed copy of such software on both computers. You should check the relevant software license agreements for applicable terms and conditions.

With this in mind, the PC would win since ESX can support both linux and windows running concurrently. You need a seperate environment for the Mac OS.

Third party hardware support: PC would win since close to every piece of desktop hardware is bundled with a CD with windows drivers. This is probably what the OP was referring to.

As far as OS software operation (e.g. Windows vs Mac OS) technically Mac is superior since it is built on a more stable BSD core and has an excellent advantage with their custom GUI. Windows forces you to restart way to many times for simple configuration and updates and the problem is at the core.

For third party software compatibility, we all know Windows has more support in this area so they can claim to be the winner.

Bottom line: getting away from windows is intentionally made difficult due to the corporate business structure. Linux and Mac users alike are quite limited with choice, but can work extremely well.

The PC would win, because the mac probably isnt fighting compatible.

PC. The mac would be too busy trying to be fashion conscious and trendy.

Mac by a longshot. The PC person would be so slowed down and sick from viruses. It would be like a strongman fighting a sick child.

PC would win, and if it has openSUSE Linux installed on it then it would beat the crap out of everything.
