I have 171 programs on my computer. And all of those 171 programs takes up 145gb of space. My computer has 582gb of space. But that's not the problem. The problem is that I have 195gb space left...meaning theres other stuff out there that I do not know of thats worth 387gb of space!! What is it?? The only programs that are worth alot of GB are the video games I have installed. And I have like a few and all of them are around 1-10gb!

Yes, I defrag/optimize my computer twice a week. Yes I do Disk-Clean up everyday. Yes I do use a advance system care premium. What the heck is taking up so much space??!!

It's probably the stuff in your users folder, not your program files, use disk space fan to see what is taking up the most space, it's really useful:

http://www.diskspacefan.com/

Or, http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/ this is also a nice program, and goes down into a lot of detail in full screen...

There are other files that can take up space besides programs. Any large batches of music, video, pictures, etc.?

Also you got your math a bit wrong. You have 582gb of space. Your programs take up 145gb of it meaning you have 437gb space left. Your computer says you only have 195gb of space. So you have 437gb - 195gb = 242gb of space unaccounted for, not 387gb if that makes you feel any better. :)

In My Computer, double-click on the C drive to show the main folders. Right-click on Documents and Settings. Select Properties, and wait for the scan to finish (a few seconds). My docs are taking up about 75gb, so you might have a substantial amount there. If that doesn't account for it, then have a look on the Internet for a freeware program that shows the distribution of files on your hard drive in a graphic form. I used to have one of these, but no longer, and I don't remember its name.

First, domicile windows Vista (and often domicile windows 7) takes up a extensive area on your annoying stress for: device fix, tmp documents, and WinNFS documents. end all mandatory methods by using utilising Ctrl+Alt+Del and then run Ccleaner (loose from piriform). you may unencumber many gigs from that on my own. It additionally does no longer harm to do a defrag, possibly utilising Auslogics Disk Defrag. be sure you end all non-mandatory methods, run Ccleaner, then defrag.
