basics~

turn off your computer

pull out and put back firmly ~each end of every cable

even the ones to your monitor and router/modem, key board and mouse.

unplug any usb devices you have connected

with usb devices still unplugged

turn the pc on

make sure you put the monitor on (usually a button with a light)

does it come on ?

if yes

plug in keyboard and mouse

still working~try a web site and run a few programs.

still ok

plug in the usb devices

hope this helps

GEMMA, if you really want help you need to put something more then "MY COMPUTER". Is it a Notebook? Is it a PC? If its a PC then make sure its not over heating. Let it sit for a while and see if it starts up. Maybe open it up and vacuum out some dust or dust bunnies that might be in the fan or on the motherboard. Make sure you ground yourself before touching any electronic chips inside the case. Overheating is a very common problem and can be fixed very easily.

If you expected it to appear as normal you need to wait, mine ' froze' ,

I left it a while then switched back on, it took nearly 4 minutes to start again, I think it was cleaning it's self up..try and wait, then if nothing after 10 minutes take it to a shop :(

greater powerful question: are the recent desktops greater powerful than the single you have? while my device gets silly, I submit with it for a jiffy after which i myself slap the right of the tower with the flat of my hand. I come down on the right of the tower such as you're able to in case you have been swatting a house fly. Wham! the workstation then says, "Oh, sorry. you fairly needed me to do something? ok. Sorry, i replaced into taking a snooze...." you have no longer stated what OPS you're working, yet in the process the 1st jiffy while your workstation is "coming up," once you notice those 3 little blue squares chasing themselves from left to authentic (domicile windows XP expert), it is strictly once you faucet F8 some situations. which will optimistically get you into "risk-free mode" the place you are able to try fairly some issues like getting freed from a load of cookies, temporary documents, be conscious information that are historic, or maybe classes you no longer use. i could have you ever circulate to Settings out of your initiate button after which to regulate Panel after which to function/do away with and while that populates, scroll down slowly via all those names of classes working on your workstation and spot in case you are able to spopt some old classes you in basic terms by no ability use anymore. eliminating those will fairly speed up your workstation. communicate approximately bags! when I do away with any classes, I in many situations run CCleaner (examine it out; that is a unfastened acquire, and an exceedingly solid one - 5 stars: ***** ) and decide Registry kit, run it, and while it pulls up the Uninstaller products, I make a backup document after which tell it to kiss them solid-bye. you may even try using device restore and set our workstation lower back some hundred years and spot if that helps. In different words, you're able to perform a little housecleaning. If all this could be somewhat rad, (radical) then be quite affected person and basically permit it slog its thank you to finished operative prestige after which do the housecleaning on your generic working mode. completely puzzled, authentic - ?

It's possible that the Video card or the Motherboard has failed.

It will be a workshop job to determine what has gone wrong

to be 100% sure

take it to your local computer store and get them to have a look at it

it may be something else wrong with it
