Hey There, Thank you for your time on this question of mine. I am looking out to build a gaming PC, but like any other guy, budget has bound my hands. So, here are the specs I can afford

GPU- ZOTAC NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti 1GB 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

Processor- AMD 3.5 AM3+ FX 6-Core Edition FX-6300

Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard

Power Supply Unit- Corsair VS450 (450 Watt)

Ram- 4gb DDR3 Kingston

Monitor- HP LCD 17.5 inch

I plan to play games like Call of Duty: Ghosts, Skyrim, Battlefield 3-4, Thief 2014, Batman: Arkham Origins-City, Crysis 2-3, Assassin's Creed: 3, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.
Do you think I'd be able to run them at ULTRA settings?
If not, What do you think my max resolution would be, considering the size of my monitor.

Thank you very much for your time. It'd be kind of you to give a detailed answer since I am pretty much of a noob. Thanks.

It will NOT run at Ultra. The GTX 650 is one of the lower-end card within the GTX series. For example: even a 4GB GTX 760 can't run CoD Ghosts and Crysis 3 on ultra, Crysis 2 on ultra with ~30 fps and BF3 on ultra. Try getting at least a 4GB GTX 760 if you want even a chance of running Crysis 3 on Ultra. Also, the FX-6300 is quite good, but an i5-4670K easily beats it. Try getting at least a 500W PSU with your current config, and at least 600W if you decide to get the GTX 760. And 4GB RAM is just enough, so 8GB is better to get.

In short: No, you cannot run most games on Ultra, maybe some games at high.

You need more ram. I would recommend at least 8gb unless you are running linux. Newer versions of windows will chew up 4gb on background processes. 2x4gb sticks will run about $30 more than 2x2gb but it will be well worth it.

Nvidia's Kepler arcitecture saw a dramatic decrease in power consumption. The max power draw on the 650TI is only 105W, Combined with you're processor which max' s out at 95W you have plenty of power to spare with a 400W PSU.

Other than the RAM it seems like a solid system for your budget.

First of all, nice build. Your max resolution wouldn't exceed 1080P because of the monitor size. For GTX 650 Ti, you can run a lot of games on Ultra Settings, no problem or lags. But for BFs ... that would be a problem, because of the graphic textures, you can run it on Ultra, but with a little lag

It will not get Ultra settings whilst the GPU is not bad want ultra upgrade the GPU as a start a 770 would be ideal.
