I need to know everything about Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (or in general Windows Vista) that I should watch out for. Are their things that are not compatible with it? Will my computer games work properly on it? What about my video card? Should I get a Windows Vista ready video card? When I get the Vista Ultimate I will want to change some things, the processor, the memory, ram, and anything else to make it able to load things fast and not freeze during any occassion. One more thing, what processor, memory size, and ram do you suggest I buy for a computer mainly to play computer games and online games?

Well, you haven't told us what your video card is or anything specific about your computer. By the way, memory and RAM are the same thing. We can't really help you because you haven't really told us anything specific.

Well I just bought a computer with Vista on it...there's little annoying things that pop up, but other than that it's not a big deal. If you really want to know everything you can about Vista get it from the source, http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/ultimate/default.mspx

I personally wouldn't get Ultimate yet, I'd get a PC with Home Premium and then if you really want later on upgrade, but wait until more things are compatible. You can always upgrade later on for a fee at microsoft.com.

For a processor for Vista, I bought an AMD 64X2. A couple of the reviews that I've read so far said that AMD and Microsoft worked together and so far I have no complaints. If you're into a lot of gaming I'd probably look for the 4800+ to the 5200+. LOAD THE THING WITH RAM!!! I put in 4 Gigs on mine and it's fast!!! Most of the computers with the 5200+ already have 2 gigs of memory on them so just buy a couple more sticks and viola pretty quick computer! You will probably need to get another video card depending on what you use the computer for. If you're into online games or games with a lot of detail just ask em at Best Buy and they'll point you in the right direction. (They don't go on commission anymore so typically they won't sell you garbage you don't need) See if you can get a 256MB non-shared memory video card and it should be about what you're looking for. If when you said what memory you should get, if you were talking about a Hard Drive...and you're spending this much already....whatever they put in the computer you should be okay with, most that I've seen come anywhere with 300-750 gigs, don't worry even 200 would be plenty. Just remember, computers are computers, make sure that you can upgrade easily down the road and you should be fine...They're going to freeze sometimes regardless of what you put in them...even if you spend $3k on it. Again, I'd just stay away from the Ultimate for now and upgrade later when it's a little more compatible with your games and programs and hardware.

Hope that helps!

Based on comments that I've seen here, don't bother with Vista just yet, stick with WinXP. Wait for a couple years and let M.S. get the bugs out. If you really want it, run it in a partition and use this little program to boot from either one. Your games won't work right in Vista yet. If you change processors, you'll need a new mobo too more than likely. So, if your a builder, build a new computer, if you don't build, make sure you get a dual core processor, minimum of 1GB RAM (more is better), 256Mb (again more is better) video card, and a larger type SATA HDD (250GB+) if you do build, this maybe okay for you to use as a guideline also.

VISTA IS BAD , THATS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ....ISNT COMPATABLE WITH ALOT OF OTHER PROGRAMS OR GAMES...JUST BECAUSE ITS NEW DOESNT MEAN ITS BETTER
