u can install anything and any OS u like....that processor is fast and can run anything......xp wil be very light on that platfrom and will be blazing fast.....it does not take up much memory too.....!

Definetely Windows 7 64 bit edition. i5 is a quad processor and it will be more than adequate to handle the 64 bit edition of both Windows 7 and Windows XP. Make sure you add at least 2GB RAM as well!

Yep; but Windows 7 will be far more capable of utilizing all of the i5's threads, memory allocation, and general processing power. XP is for noobs.

Yes it will be fine (I must tell you Win 7 is designed to use HT & more then 1 core) Remember MS will not support XP so it might be hard to find SP3

Yeah, but windows 7 is faster and better than XP..
