Ok I had to replace my hard drive and I upgraded my RAM. I bought all parts through Dell and are the correct parts. The keyboard did work before but now all i get is a flash of light on the keyboard and than nothing. I am trying to reinstall XP but can't due to lack of keyboard. I have tried an extra keyboard and still nothing. The mouse works cd-roms,etc.. the keyboard is the only thing that doesn't. What can I do?

Ok well i have gone though 3 YES 3 dell computers and let me tell you this, you will always have a problem with your computer. So it could be the wire that is conecting your keyboard to your computer now to check this I sajest that you call dell and go to teck saport. they will tell you what to do and if its not that they will ask what is wrong and will have some kind of a idea what is wrong. Good Luck.

Looks like you need to get a new key board. Mabe go to Best Buy ask them or call Dell them selves.

maybe it's the port you are plugging your keyboard into.
