Your problem is that too many programs are trying to start while Windows is starting. You can go into the start menu and find an item called startup, which contains some of the programs that start with your computer. If you don't want one of the programs to start with the computer, right click on it and delete it.

Another way / the real way to edit startup programs is to go to Start -> Run, type MSCONFIG and press enter. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck any program you think shouldn't start with windows. Any editing in this window will require a reboot.

If your system is still slow, then you might want to consider upgrading your RAM, which is hardware inside your computer. RAM is extremely easy to upgrade, all you have to do is unclip the old RAM, remove it, then clip the new RAM in. Any store that sells RAM can help you determine how much you need.

there r 3 possibilities in common for slower boot.1st low system configuration 2.loads of programs at startup.3 virus attack.

few steps that might help u.

1.make sure ur system is virus free.{using kaspersky immediately after system format does best}

2.remove unnecessary programs 4m start up.u may do it 4m d program if d option is there or click start,run,type "msconfig" n hit enter.under d startup tab,uncheck all those programs tat u feel like unnecessary.caution:some of them are those tat runs d os.b careful or u may end up wit unnecessary results.

3.download a free microsoft tool viz.bootvis.download link

http://download1us.softpedia.com/dl/2c7fe73c6421d13cb5253d8aeff6a3a3/48995ec6/100003465/software/system/bootvis.msi

run d program.under "trace" click next boot+driver delay.put 2 in number of repeatition and ok.ur system will restart 2 times.just leave it idle til d graph comes.now again go to trace n hit "optimize system" this time.it will again restart ur system.again wait 4 some time till boot vis optimizes ur system.{it puts ur boot files one after another making the system to find it early resulting a faster boot}

4.defragmantation.

these r few things that mst help u.if its still not helping thn i guess its time 4 a system upgrade. :)

1) increase the RAM of your computer.

2) follow this procedure:-

click on start button

at the run option type msconfig

then a window appears

there go to startup and uncheck all the options and close the window and there a message appear to restart computer.

restart comp. and this will help in increasing the speed of your comp.

3) you should also defrag your comp.

4) there is one more technical reason that affects the booting of computer and that is the partition size of your boot drive which is C drive by defalut

5) some various may too affect the booting of comp.

if above procedure solves the prob. then its ok otherwise increase RAM to atleast 512mb or 1gb

look at the tray at the right hand bottom screen and you will see a lot of software have added their programs to startup at boot---please get the free Win Patrol from www.winpatrol.com--its a very small program which monitors your computer for applications that try to add themselves at startup and lets you remove them from startup------ among other things this wonderful program does is lock the file types ///stop any changes to IE home page///gives a list of services running on your computer-----etc

Those things that pop up at the startup, like MSN, AIM, Yahoomsg, or anything else that pop out at the startup should be stop. Go to default program and disable them. Then your startup should go way faster. Otherwise, your comp must be dieing.
