I just built my custom PC with Vista, and now I want to install MAC OS!?

Can this be done? I just built a...
AMD Quad-core 2.2 processor
4gigs of dual channel ram
512 PCI Express ATI card
Two 250 gig hard drives sata II 7200 RPM

So my question is can I install Leapord 10x on my second hard drive, and then run a dual boot process? That would be sick if I could.

The Mac OS may not be able to run on an AMD processor. Google hackintosh for more info on putting the Mac OS on your computer. But I agree with the other posters - get a Mac and install Windows on it. Easier to do.

You are in for some trouble. Vista doesn't work well with others. The boot.ini file in Vista restricts it from booting another operation system. Technically this is incorrect because it can be edited...but it is soooo time consuming that let's pretend it is.

The next logical step would be to use third party software such as Easyboot. Which allows you to set up booting capabilities independent of the OS.

By the way, running windows on a Mac is much more effective than running Mac OS X on a windows machine.

First, you're ultimate suited which you need an entire Retail replica of Leopard (or Snow Leopard) - it won't paintings with a fix disk and fairly some the "patched" or in any different case changed copies online will in easy terms paintings on particular hardware with particular bootloaders (besides to being pirated). A chum and that i made a Hackintosh from scratch utilizing the i7 quad and an un-changed replica of OS X. It labored.....often. there have been some subject concerns with perfials, some sound card tweaks we had to do, or perhaps now we get a kernel panic approximately 70% of the time after a reboot so we could continually keep it on and in sleep mode all the time. it extremely is impressive and the full deal grew to become into approximately $1500 (and it extremely is in actuality a $5000 MacPro with an i7 processor, which Apple would not grant) besides the incontrovertible fact that it extremely is an on-going project and you're able to have fairly some know-how in the two gadget construction and OS X to get it to paintings properly, and to handle subject concerns that arise. basic it grew to become right into a chilled project yet not something i might do as my regular pc. he's actual thinking of loading Win7 and advertising it to purchase a sparkling 27" iMac. We used the RebelEFI bootloader yet there are different bootloaders that are rather ordinary to apply.do exactly a splash examine on the custom build Hackintoshs and are available to a determination what bootloader version ultimate suits your needs. Now, I DID deploy Leopard on my Dell Mini 9 with out issues what so ever. That little HackBook is killer and runs a hundred% all the time. i haven't had to do any specific tweaks because of the fact the 1st deploy. I used the NetBookInstaller EFI bootloader and it grew to become into soft crusing. i think of i will objective with Snow Leopard quickly, besides the incontrovertible fact that that's a slick little beast. do exactly your homework, be waiting for issues that don't paintings like they're meant to, and set aside so plenty extra time which you think of you will want for the build and deploy.

No. The only way to install OS X properly, and legally, is to have an apple computer.

short answer is no.

Macs have embedded firmware that is required to run the mac os. You can run windows on mac hardware but you cannot run mac os on generic hardware.
