I have a 2004 Dell Desktop, its a good computer and is great for gaming so I don't want to give up on it, but its been driving me crazy today because it wont turn on.
It was working fine yesterday,I could play games, surf the web, listen to music anything. I turned it off around 11:30 last night and went to bed.

Today however I tried to turn it on and it makes this beeping sound that is NOT coming from the speakers but from the tower itself. Also the monitor, keyboard and probably the mouse will not connect somehow. I checked all the cords and they're fine, but they're all acting as if they're not plugged in. All I get as a sign of life is the beeping and the green light on my tower.

I've turned my computer on and off several times in the last 2 hours and it worked once for a few minutes. I gave me a Blue error screen with a message saying there is something wrong (Blue Screen of Death???) but it froze up and had to shut down before I could try to figure out what was wrong.

So I guess my question is What is wrong with my computer and why does it seem to hate me?
Also How do I fix my computer without the use of the monitor, keyboard or mouse?

It can be anything, but the beeping sound from your cpu is the error code. Try to listen how many beeps and the duration of each beep. Then look it up at Dell.com troubleshooting page regarding the beeping sound patterns. My hunch is it could be a memory dimm problem. Try re-seating your memory Dimm or dimms. If it still does it, try installing only one memory dimm at a time until you find the bad dimm. Best of Luck.

in the future the moment you see that blue screen of death you turn off your computer immidiately...

your computer not turning on could be many things wrong ...one of my suggestions is to press the button on the moniter and make sure its not just the screen sleeping ...

another possability is an internal problem with lots of desktops I would google:

"screen wont turn on"

http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-33850-black-screen-upon-startup-wont-run

this is one website ive found ...

but if I were you I would search some tips on your screen not turning on because it doesnt seem that the problem is in the power if the tower is showing power ....

this is to give you an idea the tower is like the brain

and the screen is just the screen so the tower controls the main computer

This is probably a memory error. Try removing the memory sticks one at a time and see if it boots. If it isn't a memory error, It's somewhere on the motherboard and the computer is hosed. It's one or the other.

It sounds like a Hardware Failure, it could be any number of things. Even if one of your sticks of RAM fail, that alone will not allow the Computer to boot.

it's likely caused by dirt/dust, but sounds like a hardware problem. could be any of these, power supply, hard drive, graphics card. take it to a local tech, gonna cost anyway you look at it.
