Well i was checking out my motherboard specs so i could buy a new ram stick(my pc was runing slow) and i noticed that my mother board could handle ram up to 4g 533 MHz • 667 MHz;and than when i went to see what ram i had it says its DDR2 512Mg 266 MHz how is this possible? all specs down below.
Thx and cheers!

You got the info from cpu-z? if that is the case note that it mentions the actual Ram speed. The 533Mhz and 667 etc are double that speed because of the dual channel technology you can use to achieve those speed. so 266,7 x2 makes roughly 533 and 333x2 goes for 667. To take advantage of this you should by another same stick and put it in the corresponding slot of the other pair of memory slots than the one you have already installed. E.g. if your current stick is in slot one of the first pair then you should put it in slot one of the second pair. Nevertheless, my advice would be to buy and use 2x1 GB 667Mhz and remove altogether the 512MB 533.

the ram you have is less spec than the mobo will take.

exactly UP to, meaning anything lower will work.
