I have a really strange problem with my new PC that I can not figure out. Whenever I switch my PC off at the mains and turn it on again and boot up no image appears on screen even though my monitors on. I then have to press the reset button on my PC and the PC will restart fine and the image appears but every time I do this I get an error message because I have reset half way through bootup. it only does this the first time I boot up after powering on at the mains. My monitor is perfectly fine and switched on when Im doing this and there cant be a problem with the cable as Ive used it for other things previously and they have worked fine. I really don't know why it is doing this can anyone shed any light on this??

Thanks in Advance

Tom

Hi Tom

the biggest problem with anything electrical is wires become disconnected over time.

so what might appear to be fine in the past does not mean it will always be the case.

that is why they produce so many spare cables and spare parts.

what you should do is turn on the monitor first, it will need this to show an image, the next thing is do you hear the double beep whilst the booting process is happening.

this gives an indication that it sees the ram chips during the boot sequence.

that maybe what is not happening and everything is out of step.

so take it too a tech for him to check out the computer as it sounds like something has become dis lodged inside the case.

When you say you switch off at the Mains, do you shut down your computer from the `Start` button first as failing to do so will cause lots of problems.

Pinched from yet another website that pertains to NDLR blunders & the like, desire it facilitates :) in case you attempt to place in domicile windows XP or domicile windows 2000 and are receiving this mistake message simply by fact the laptop is booting determine that your laptop BIOS has the right boot settings. as an occasion, in case you attempt to run the installation from the CD-ROM make confident the CD-ROM is the 1st boot gadget, and not the annoying diskchronic. 2nd, whilst the laptop is booting you're able to receive the under instantaneous. Press any key as nicely from the CD significant: once you spot this message press any key such simply by fact the enter key at cutting-edge, in any different case it rather is going to try booting from the tensechronic and assured get the NTLDR blunders returned. be conscious: while you at the instant are not receiving the above message and your BIOS boot innovations are set ideal it is likewise attainable that your CD-ROMchronic won't be booting from the CD-ROM ideal. be sure the jumpers are set ideal on the CD-ROMchronic.

Try changing the refresh rate for your monitor. Not sure if that will help but its the only thing I can think of at the time.

Maybe someone changed the resolution on your monitor. I know I did that and the monitor was black for nearly a week or more until my dad fixed it.
