How can I get to the conrol panel on my school desktop when it's not there when I press the 'start' button?

I want to add the volume control in the task bar, but the school computer won't let me. There's a way that I know of the get to the control panel to get volume back. The problem is that I don't know where the icon for the control panel is. I looked when I pressed the start button, but it was no where to be found. Is there a button or two on the keyboard that can access the control panel? Tips?

Its one of the restriction and since your logged in to a Student Account in your PC access to Control Panel, and any Programs that tries to alter the settings of your PC is blocked. if you can go login to Administration you can access the Control Panel and other things

If Windows 7:::: Open any folder or "Computer" and type "Control Panel" in address bar, most probably it will open...

Further, mostly school computers are not given administrative rights, so even after control panel is opened, you may not be able to get volume control icon in the task bar.
