I would get e8400. Q8200 lacks cache and is not a good overclocker.



If you want a cheap and overclockable quad core, you should get Q6600 instead.

Multicore CPUs do not "add up". In multicore CPUs, processing cores dont add up because each CPU core works individually- or simply they are in parallel. They do not add up in a linear fashion, in other words 4 cores at 2.4 GHz is not equal to 9.6 GHz.

For now, the Dual Core. In about 3 years, when multi-core-abled programs come out, the quad core.
