this is the link to the computer that i'm buying from hp. i also bought an nvidia geforce 9800 gt, but the 300 watt power supply that comes with it can't support the graphics card. would a 450 watt atx power supply be compatible with this computer? here's the link to the power supply i was thinking about:

If a PSU is not certified...then you cannot believe the wattage rating claimed. The weight usually gives it away...true high wattage PSU's weigh much more than 300-400watt PSU's. I've seen $22 PSU's claiming to be 650watts, and weigh as light as a feather.

I have never heard of that brand of PSU that you linked to. I know a few brands that are certified, such as Antec, Thermaltake, Zalman, Coolermaster...to name a few. I would have full confidence in any of those brands I just listed.

The power supply is compatible (all ATX power supplies are pretty much the same physical size) and has enough power to run your CPU and video card.

Depending on the wattage of the processor and 9800 gt card you bought, even the 300W might have had enough, but a 450W PSU is a much safer bet.

700watt psu are solid and could no longer burn out effortless, 460 might want to burn out quick, so in the journey that your in simple terms attempting to get a sparkling psu then get a 700watt. 700watts might want to also assist you run better stuff on your pc. PSU = means furnish Unit 500 - six hundred is alright to, yet seven hundred watts received't overkill. (this is in simple terms way better money for 700watts)

I saw a 600watt in that list. Just make sure it has at least a year warranty. so you can replace it in case it brakes.
