sorry for so many links, but i really want to get the best for my money and also make sure they will all work together!

i was wondering if i had a DDR2 motherboard and a DDR3 graphics card would they work together, and would the graphics card be taken to its full use?

thanks for your time :)

All fits together fine. The motherboard has PCI-E for any of those graphics cards and is an Socket 775 slot for the processor so they're all fine.

And yes, a graphics card with DDR3 memory will work fine with DDR2 memory on the motherboard.

Okay, I'm going to explain the process from booting up. First, you boot up the computer by pressing the button on the front, which sends a signal through a wire that goes to the motherboard and sends your power supply a signal to turn on. Your computer does a quick self check to make sure everything is working fine and then boots into your hard drive. Windows loads its programs from folders on the hard drive and moves them onto the RAM. Your processor accesses the programs from the RAM and completes the tasks assigned for it to carry out. Meanwhile, visual data is being sent to your graphics card and is then converted into a picture displayable on a monitor. Often high end graphics cards will have their own RAM reserved just for it to use. Also, CPU speed is measured in gHz, the higher, the better. Also, having more cores in your processor allows you to have more programs running at once.

Yeah it'll all work fine. A DDR3 graphics card has nothing to do with DDR2 motherboard. The DDR2 of the motherboard refers to the memory known as RAM. However, I believe that that motherboard uses the PCI-E 2.0, standard, and therefore has less bandwidth than the graphics cards requires to perform at its best.

These are the only Core 2 Quad CPU's listed as compatible with the P6N Diamond

Core 2 Quad Kentsfield (CPU Code SL9UM) Q6600

Core 2 Quad Kentsfield (CPU Code SLACR) Q6600

Core 2 Quad Kentsfield (CPU Code SLACQ) Q6700

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2,33GHz 4MB Cache is not compatible.

Graphics cards are okay.

i would go with the 2nd graphics card the 260 massive amount of graphical power, but you'll need to make sure you have at least a 650watt power supply.

hmm your cpu choosen isnt the fastest but it will do i would suggest upgrading it to maybe the 2.8ghz eg

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-Pentium4-2-8-GHZ-1M-800-Socket-775-SL7PR_W0QQitemZ180397737472QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motherboards_CPUs?hash=item2a008b0600&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

it doesnt matter about the motherboard memory being dd2 and the card having dd3, since graphics card now have ddr5

as long as you get dual memory sticks, you get the full speed.
