gtx 660 = 140 watts(450 watt psu recommended) using one 6 pin power cable. GTX 1060 = 120 watts(400 watt psu recommended) using one 6 pin power cable. no need to get a new psu.

The card you have now is a 6 pin connector to power the card, while the 1060 is an 8pin. So you’ll need a 6-8pin or an 8pin pci Express Cable to Power it.
The good thing is you won’t need a new power supply, the 1060 may require more pins but it actually requires a minimum system power of 400w while the 660 requires 450w.
So if you have the 8pin Cable, you can just swap the cards out and install the correct driver and it will be good.
Also it’s important to note that the 1060 3gb and 1060 6gb are pretty much different cards. It’s more than just the vram difference, the 3gb version also has less CUDA cores and runs at a slower speed. You also CANNOT SLI the 1060 Card, there’s no SLI support.
I always choose the MSI brand. But EVGA, Nvidia, and ASUS are also good choices.
