Since I only have 2 Gb of RAM will it run slower on Windows 7 64-bit? When I play games on my PC I never use more than 1,3 Gb of RAM and never had a problem with it on XP, but when I upgrade to Windows 7 will my PC's performance decrease? Guess I can buy another 2 Gb of RAM but I've spent so much money on my PC lately I'm starting to feel guilty about it lol.

64 bit means the address width of CPU would now be 64-bit. That means now your CPU can process 64-bit of data in one go while in 32-bit it would process 32-bit of data in one go.

So 64-bit helps you to realize full potential of your CPU and hence increasing your speed.

And as for RAM, 2 GB will suffice as I am running on 1.5 GB DDR1 with Windows 7 ultimate x64 edition and never really had a problem regarding RAM.

1) cpu is really old 2) high performance doesn't increase performance, it only stops the computer going to sleep, turning off the display, and downclocking the cpu when its unnecessary to run it at full speed. It just wastes power. 3) If you have installed programs, then they probably run background processes which arn't helpful but use up the cpu. download ccleaner run it, then scan for registry issues, then under tools disable start up programs other than your antivirus. You can also defrag your hard drive with the windows utility 'disk derangementer' although windows should be running this on a weekly basis by default.

4 GB is recommended for running all visual effects etc. I have turned off all those things as I consider Windows as only an operating system for other programs to run on. I don't "work" with anything "Windows". I use other programs for browsing, e-mailing, video, audio, imaging, CAD for my work, etc. etc. Days and weeks go by that I don't see anything "Windows". I also use Ubuntu for about 95% of the time.

64-bit will run a lot smoother with 4 Gigs. RAM isn't expensive, it will be worth the speed increase.

2GB will be fine but 4GB is recommended for optimal performance.
