For various reasons, I started reinstalling my operating system, Windows XP Professional. After preliminary steps, it started installing. But after a few seconds, an error message came:"Fatal Error-One file from registry not available. Set up prevented from proceding". Installation also stopped. There is no provision to go back or abort the installation. Even after trials, restarting etc. the same message keeps coming !.I am totally stuck up.
Is there any provision to abort the installation and go back? How to get out of this rut?
Kindly help me immediately.

Your installation CD/DVD is damage or dirty.

Try cleaning the CD/DVD.

And try installing the OS.

If the error message keep coming than you have to find or get a new OS CD/DVD.
